You Want to Sharpen UP
Up is an inherently positive word.
The majority of words you put in front of it make it even more positive, more powerful! I’m talking about the partnerships that bring us motivating phrases like, rise up, front up, step up, move up, light up.
Sure there are a few less complementary wordy cousins, yep, shut, stuff and f*** can really drag an up down (there’s always a few outliers in every family right?) but overall, ups create positive, progressive pairings.
amandamillar&co has created its own positive pairing, so of course it’s with an up. Our media training, Front UP has a new sibling, Sharpen UP. Welcome to the family!
When we ask clients what they’d like more of from our (already very practical) sessions, they almost always say “more practice.”
It’s funny, seeing as we communicate everyday, so the opportunity to practice is always there. But the team at amandamillar&co find once you see how you speak, listen and behave when you’re trying to make a point and really analyse how that comes across, most people want to nail it, every time.
Hence the drive for more practice in an environment where you’re not a headline if you try something that misses the mark. After all, who wants to waste energy, time and breath on words that aren’t working or worse, working against you?
amandamillar&co is all about getting words and the mouths they come out of to work effectively. Sharpen UP is our media master class. It gives you more practice with different mediums, the chance to see the progress you’ve made since your first session and detailed discussions about what’s been working and what's not.
Just like learning any new skill - say juggling - once you know how it feels to get it right, you’re at a whole new level. The enjoyment goes up, the stress goes down and the great results are more consistent.
You’re now confident performing in public, but that doesn’t mean you don’t like practising the next level in private. Sharpen UP is that new level. Where you can put another ball or hula-hoop into your act to see if it’s going to work in a safe and fun environment.
